The 2018 Inspire Loudoun Teacher Conference was held on Monday, June 18, at Riverside High School - this was the first day of summer vacation for Loudoun County Public School teachers. Just over 800 teachers attended the six, 50 minute sessions that took place; and each session had 25-28 presentations for them to choose from. The Inspire Loudoun Teacher Conference is a teacher-run professional learning day where Loudoun County Public Schools teachers come together to share best practices in teaching with technology. Over the past seven years, this conference has hosted over 600 teachers over a single non-contract day who exchanged ideas on collaborative practices, flipping the classroom, project and problem-based learning, Computer Science, STEM, use of 1:1 and BYOT devices for teaching and learning, and much more. In this session, we will discuss the history of this conference, the successes and the iterations that it went through when changes needed to be made; and how this can be developed in other school divisions.
