Building Relationships Stronger Than Sandcastles

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Grab your sand bucket and shovel because we will be digging in and building lasting relationships to foster student confidence, communication, and community. Building relationships with students is becoming more difficult as the tech divide expands. The current generation, Generation Z, is crashing ashore daily as they confront huge waves of constantly changing information. How do we teach our students important life skills without them “bailing”? We meet them where they are! How? Using tools such as iMovie, WeVideo, Flipgrid and Google Classroom, tech tools they may be familiar with, but they will certainly love! We will show you how to avoid the choppy waves of outdated technology, and ride the smooth waves to ignite and inspire your students’ desires to be engaged and be a partner in their learning journey. These tips and tools can help you safely reel students ashore while providing another avenue to connect with them outside of traditional means. Not to mention, if you’re big on collecting data to share with important stakeholders in your school or district about the ways in which you are able to connect and bring about change, we will share on that too! Any and all educational roles and content areas are invited to learn an exciting way to deliver essential information and skills to small groups, classrooms, school-wide, and beyond. Come hang with us as we learn to fortify our relationship building with students in order to withstand the gnarly waves of life!
