We can no longer view a school with traditional walls, classrooms, lectures, and specialized teachers but rather an open space with well-rounded and collaborative educators and students. If we model education in this way we will make learning more meaningful and prepare our students for the ACTUAL real world.

Why not design a new shoe for a solar panel installer? Have students research the role of footwear in various cultures (history), test the coefficient of friction of their shows (physics) or create a regression model (math)? Then design a fashionable yet functional shoe (art), research the production process (finance) and write a proposal letter to the company (English). Why not record an interview or commercial (media) about your shoe and create a sales pitch (public speaking) in another language (foreign language)?

Let's reimagine our schools and think about what and how we teach to better prepare our students for the real world.
