Exploring the World Without Barriers: Using Virtual Reality Resources to Support ESOL Students

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Virtual Reality builds background knowledge, increases student engagement, and immerses them into the learning process. Students can explore the world, experience different places and cultures without ever leaving their classroom community. Virtual reality personalizes learning by putting the students in control of their experience and by bringing content into their world without barriers of language, exposure, or location.

Our session will explore various VR resources such as Google Expeditions, Ricoh Theta 360 cameras and View-Master headsets. Participants will experience a virtual reality embedded lesson plan and will have the opportunity to build out their own lessons using the Virginia Standards of Learning.
