Candace is the English Department Chair at Millbrook High School in Frederick County. She currently teaches AP English 11.
During the 2015-2016 school year, I was given the opportunity to pilot a 1:1 classroom with a group of AP English 11 students. This experience allowed me to experiment with the 1:1 environment, collect data, and generate feedback as our county prepared to move forward with a district wide 1:1 plan. This year, all students in the high schools received chromebooks. Teaching with daily access to computers has changed how I plan and implement lessons in my classroom. It has eased the burden of the sluggish revision process, and has allowed much more freedom in differentiated instruction.
